You know the one where you're:

  • Feeling Excited

Waking up every day living in your values while doing all the things that you’re amazing at and light you up

  • With Your People

Surrounded by people who make you feel free, seen, and fully accepted for who you are

  • Working with Dream Clients

Effortlessly attracting amazing clients who are so eager for what you have to offer

  • Doing Amazing Things

New exciting possibilities are constantly flowing to you where you get to travel, explore, meet incredible like-minded people, create beautiful things together, and constantly experience all the wonderful beauty this world has to offer

  • Effortlessly Attracting Wealth

Getting paid more than you ever imagined just by being yourself and sharing your gifts with others

  • Inspiring Others with Your Gifts

Being a light and inspiration to others just by having fun, emanating positivity, and in general just being the purest version of yourself

Wait, you haven't????

Yeah...turns out not many have.

We’ve been sold a different way of living and working. One clever enough to masquerade as something called “Success” but is actually The Big Fear:

  • Worrying Constantly

Where we wake up every day afraid we won’t have enough: for the bills, for our kids, for retirement

  • Seeking Validation

Where we are chained to desks and computers, anxiously checking our emails and messages to make sure no one thinks we aren’t doing our jobs

  • Proving Ourselves

Where we toil for hours over things that don’t actually matter because we are trying to prove how accomplished we are and how much we deserve to be there

  • Looking for Permission

Where we feel privileged to have 2-hour early release days before holidays, 2 weeks of vacation a year, or (GASP) a 4-day 10-hour workweek!!!

  • Being Held Back

Where we work with people who don’t match our values and can do anything they can to control, manipulate us, or guilt us for not doing things “their way”

  • Shaming Ourselves

Where we kick ourselves over not working enough or demonstrating our productivity even when we are completely exhausted

The Big Fear tells us that:

The world is a scary place and you have to be careful.

You can’t actually have the life you want: that’s only for the privileged few.

You’re not worth anything when you’re not working as much as the rest of us.

You have to grind and hustle or you’ll never get anywhere.

No one really wants you: you need to keep proving yourself to make them and once you gain enough status they will.

You can’t actually trust yourself or your instincts: you need more education and certifications to know what you’re doing.

Money is finite and scarce: you’ll never have enough unless you stick to a salaried job for the rest of your life.

While The Big Exciting Life says:

You were born with a unique purpose, passion, and skillset innately within you.

It is not only safe and ok for you to pursue this purpose, it is VITAL for the betterment of the world.

You were meant to pursue this purpose freely and in ways that feel fulfilling, and life-giving for you.

You were meant to have fun, laugh, and experience joy and pleasure while pursuing this purpose.

You were meant to be working with people who also feel this way and make you feel seen and valued for being exactly who you are.

You were meant to bring immeasurable value to people’s lives just by offering your gifts and living out your purpose.

You were meant to flow with endless and infinite opportunities to gain more wealth, adventure, and excitement in this life than you ever thought possible.

  • Fun

If you're not having fun, then what's the point? I have watched too many people take their life, job, and business far too seriously and miss out on the pure joy and excitement we are meant to have on this big adventure. If you're not having fun or you've stopped having fun, it's time to reassess and pivot because this is the first and foremost foundation of The Big Exciting Life.

  • Freedom

Whether we realize it a lot, we operate under a lot of "rules". Be to work at this time, do this or you won't get that promotion, don't make any drastic career changes while the kids are still at home, don't leave a job before 1 year, and so many more. These rules generate beliefs that keep us trapped from exploring what we ACTUALLY want to do and how we want to do it. In The Big Exciting Life, you are released from all rules, opinions, and beliefs projected onto you by others and free to pursue your purpose on your terms.

  • Fulfillment

While fun and freedom are wildly attractive, fulfillment is our true deepest craving in The Big Exciting Life. That deep inner peace and satisfaction that comes from being in the flow with what you were meant to do with people who are eager to benefit from your gifts. That your ideas and creativity are meaningful, welcomed, and allowed to take on their full potential. This, above all else, is why we pursue The Big Exciting Life.

  • Trust over Fear

In everything you do, you have the power to choose trust or fear. Are you going to worry and toil over everything that could go wrong, all of the judgements people could make of you, and everything you could lose? Or will you trust that you have the instincts, resourcefulness, value, and resilience to take on any challenge that comes your way as you build something that lights you up with excitement? The Big Exciting Life will make you feel uncomfortable and scared sometimes, but you will always choose trust to move forward.

  • Openness over Attachment

I can't tell you how many people I have talked to who have abandoned their dream job or business because it didn't go EXACTLY as they imagined it to. When you choose to be open-minded, curious, and excited about the possibilities of pursuing your purpose instead of attaching to how it HAS to be, you will discover greater rewards than you ever imagined possible. When you learn to release attachment and remain open, you are in the flow of The Big Exciting Life.

  • Natural Cyclical Rhythms over Burnout

The expectations and pressures to constantly "perform" and "be productive" are not only draining us mentally and physically, they are setting us up for wildly unhealthy perceptions of our self-worth. The idea that the more you work, the more you will gain, and therefore, the more you will be valued is not only a losing game, it's simply UNTRUE. When you understand how to work in your natural cyclical rhythms, you begin to see that short giant spurts of inspiration can generate far more results as well as personal satisfaction than most 40+ hour works you were forcing yourself to work because "that's how things get done". The Big Exciting Life is all about finding and working with your energy--NOT forcing it.

  • Authentic Joy over Proving Yourself

I've seen clients start dreaming about how great they will look to their MBA colleagues, former boss, or even high school boyfriend when they have their big flashy launch. Proving yourself to others is NOT part of The Big Exciting Life because it is ultimately fear-based: you are thinking you have to be a certain way or no one will want or value you. But when you do it for the pure and authentic joy it gives you along the journey no matter who is watching, it is infinitely more satisfying, sustainable, and inspirational because people pick up on your energy in a natural organic way rather than a forced "look at how amazing I am!" way.

  • Advocacy over Victomhood

The sad reality is that there will be people who do not want you on The Big Exciting Life. When you value their opinion or feel in some way that they have power over you, it's easy to let them make you feel selfish, guilty, or irresponsible for thinking you could pursue your purpose on your terms. Learning to advocate for yourself and the path you are on is not only OK, it is ESSENTIAL for the fulfillment of your purpose. Once you realize the power of your own advocacy, no one can stand in your way.

  • Self-Determination over Judgement

Lastly, The Big Exciting Life is all about focusing on yourself and your path. It's so easy to blame, judge, or project "shoulds" onto other people not on your path, even when those "shoulds" are well-intentioned. None of us is better than the other; we're just on different journeys and that is actually a good thing. Keep your energy focused on who you are and where you're going while letting others do the same for themselves.

So what do you ACTUALLY need to run a business that fuels your Big Exciting Life?

The Easy Stuff (That We Think is the Hard Stuff)

Setting up your business legally

Setting up simple systems to take in and track revenue and expenses

Establishing your minimum earning requirements

Establishing relevant safe income streams such as part-time work, loans, or savings until you reach those minimum earning requirements through your business

Developing and pricing your core offering(s) to meet those minimum earning requirements

Determining your target market

The Slightly More Challenging Stuff

Converting your natural passions, strengths, and values into a business model that feels exciting and authentic

Understanding who is in Your Party and who is worth listening to when all the noise comes in

Developing a schedule and rhythm of working that matches your natural energy and life priorities–and trusting that you will still earn what you need

Deciding how to attract your target market in ways that excite and motivate you to show up consistently–NOT what all the business gurus tell you that you “should” be doing

Understanding where to put your focus for maximum momentum and results, rather than spending it in fear-based loops that get you nowhere

The Actual Hard Stuff

Changing Your Relationship with Money & Security

Releasing perceived comfort and security financial and otherwise–it will never ever give you the fun, freedom, & fulfillment that you are meant for

Letting Go of Others' Expectations

Walking away from jobs, environments, and people who are no longer part of The Big Exciting Life™

Rewriting narratives you have either picked up or developed based on how you perceive others’ expectations of you

Detaching from how you “should” be–”I “should” be good enough to stay in this job.” “Suzie seems to thrive in this job, I “should” be able to.” These shoulds are destroying your self-worth while keeping you from experiencing the vast freedom and fulfillment that awaits you elsewhere. These shoulds are dangerous, stay away from them.

Trusting Who You Are

Embracing that you are different from other people and refuse to take on their fear–that having the fun and freedom your business provides is not only OK, it’s non-negotiable

Believing that no matter what happens, you have the Resourcefulness, Decision Making, Resilience, Value, Relationship Building, & Learning capabilities to keep your business successful

Letting go of anything that makes you believe that you are not capable of running the business you want, the way you want it, while still earning (or exceeding) what you need

Doing Things Before You're "Ready"

Doing things sooner than you think you are able to (and charging for them) to learn, adapt, and grow from there–instead of spending months “perfecting” your offerings
